The Bay Region IV System of District and School Support is designed to provide support to schools and districts in improving the educational performance of low-achieving students in high-poverty schools receiving Title I funds. The System consists of five major components which form an interactive, dynamic, collegial and collaborative network: School Leadership Teams, District Learning Support Teams, Regional Support and Improvement Teams, the California Department of Education and the Comprehensive Technical Assistance Centers. The system will provide support and technical assistance to schools that are furthest from meeting state and district content and performance standards and where the number of students in poverty is at or above 50% of the total school enrollment. Twelve Regional School Support and Improvement Centers (RSSIC) facilitated by Regional Directors have been created to serve as the central focus for coordinating and implementing the entire system. http://www.bayregionssc.org/
