The 4Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rot) Chávez Service-Learning Project offers professional development and support to participating fourth and fifth grade teachers in districts throughout Alameda County. Project teachers receive training, technical assistance and resources to engage their students in service-learning projects that reduce school and community waste and save natural resources. Teachers are also introduced to the life, legacy and values of César Chávez, to provide their students with a role model for serving their schools and communities.
