California Technology Assistance Program (CTAP)

The California Technology Assistance Project (CTAP) is a statewide educational technology leadership initiative designed to provide assistance to schools and districts in integrating technology into teaching and learning. CTAP Region IV, one of eleven regions, works with county offices of education and other regional projects. CTAP Region IV:

  • Provides regional leadership in educational technology integration
  • Provides educators with learning resources
  • Assists districts and direct-funded charter schools in securing technology funding
  • Facilitates the use of data in district and site decision making
  • Provides technology professional development programs
  • Builds partnerships with business and community
  • Assists with technology plan development

CTAP Region IV’s major projects include:

21st Century Skills - Build modern literacy skills using Web 2.0 tools such as Wikis, Google Tools, Podcasting, and other resources.

AB 430 - Train school site administrators in Module 3: Instructional Technology to Improve Student Performance.

BTSA - Enhance mentors and project leaders’ ability to assist new teachers in meeting the criteria for Standard 16.

Calisphere - Support classroom and library media teachers using resources from the University of California’s public gateway.

CyberSafety - Help educators and students to foster safe and responsible Internet use.

Data Driven Decision Making - Assist district and site administrators in effective use of data to improve student performance.

Middle School Math Project - Support math content standards for grades 6 and 7 and Algebra 1.

Program Improvement - Offer tools for assisting school site program improvement efforts.

Technology Funding - Provide support for technology plan development and funding, including Enhancing Education Through Technology (EETT) and K-12 Voucher.
