The Alameda County Office of Education is lead by Superintendent Sheila Jordan, who oversees all departments, including Student Programs & Services (SPAS). SPAS is lead by Assistant Superintendent John Flores, Ph.D. Each of the school sites has a principal and lead teacher, and each program is overseen by a director or coordinator. SPAS operates with a staff of 54 certificated and 48 classified personnel who provide educational services annually to more than 6,000 students ranging from birth to 19 years of age representing the 18 public school districts in Alameda County, as well as some students from outside Alameda County.
