Independent Study is an alternative to classroom instruction consistent with a school district’s course of study and is not an alternative curriculum. It provides individual students with a choice of ways to acquire the values, skills and knowledge all students should gain as verified in a written agreement. Independent study can be part of, separate from, or in addition to a regular classroom program.

Mr. Uribe,
Long time no talk. I still have your number but since I know you check this everyday I thought I'd write you instead. Anyways I'm lookin' to go to college sometime next year. Probably Ohlone. I'm not all too sure yet. But I want you to know that I have a lot of love for you. You believed in me & pushed me to strive. Thanks to you I'm one of the few that can say actually graduated. A lot of my friends can't believe it either....a lot of them think they have no future but I know I have the choice to make my own. Let me know how you’re doing. I'm still waiting for my diploma so let me know about that too. I hope to hear from you soon. Take care.
Much love & respect,
[Former Quest Academy student]
