Technology Services at ACOE provides a full range of technical and professional services to ACOE staff and technology users throughout Alameda County. Our services range from application development, implementation and support to security management, training, and Internet access. The menu at left provides a categorization of these services in order to help facilitate easy access to our catalog. The following will give you a flavor of what will be found in each grouping:

ACOENet
A bundle of services provided to client districts and other subscribers that is centered on Internet and related services, as well as router maintenance, network engineering, and colocation.

Application Services
Application hosting and administration, as well as an increasing number of applications provided in a Software as a Service offering.

Construct
A collaborative and learning environment (CLE) that provides the ability to create, use, and repurpose content in support of both administrative and educational efforts whether they be a small project or a full-scale deployment of virtual courses.

ESCAPE
A service bundle provided to both internal ACOE users and client organizations throughout Alameda County. The bundle includes Financial Accounting and HR/Payroll software as a service along with all the support, training, and data processing services needed to ensure the effective operation of your system.

Infrastructure Services
All of the fundamental technical infrastructure components, such as the wide and local area networks, directory, backup, storage and wireless.

Media Services
Whether it’s duplication of media or recording, editing and production of live events, we have your media services needs covered.

Professional Services
The entire range of personal assistance, from application, integration, and other areas of consulting to actual software development, artwork and network engineering.

Repair Services
Beyond the normal desktop and infrastructure support, we offer a full range of depot repair services for all your computer, printer, and audio/visual repair needs.

Security Services
Security is an increasingly important area of technology. Our services in this area include normal perimeter defense technologies, such as firewall and filtering, as well as anti-spam and anti-virus.

STARS/SPELL
The Standardized Test Analysis and Research System (STARS) and SchoolCity Plan For English Language Learners (SPELL) are secure, easy-to-use, web-based software system requiring minimal technical training for users. They are designed for use at every level - region, district, sub-district, school, grade, teacher, class, and student. STARS can aid in disaggregating, using, and disseminating your student assessment data. SPELL helps in estimating AMAO #1 and AMAO #2. It also helps generate redesignation reports based on state and district criteria.
