Reopening Stories from Our Schools
Alameda County is in the Orange Tier under the State of California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. All TK-12 schools in Alameda County may implement reopening plans for a return to in-person instruction, in accordance with the California Department of Public Health’s Reopening In-Person Instruction Framework and the Alameda County School Reopening Guidance.
These include requirements that:
- Schools must complete and post a COVID-19 Safety Plan (CSP) to their website homepage 5 days prior to reopening for in-person instruction. The CSP consists of a Cal/OSHA COVID19 Prevention Program (CPP) and COVID-19 School Guidance Checklist.
- Public school districts should submit reopening plans to the Alameda County Office of Education before opening or expanding to include new grade bands not covered in previous reopening submissions.
- When schools reopen, they will be required to follow the state’s guidance for schools and school based programs, as well as guidance and direction from ACPHD.
Alameda County Office of Education will continue to assist our schools and districts in following state and local guidelines by ensuring educational leaders, educators, and the community have the support and the most current information available, including our COVID-19 School Guidance for Reopening and other resources for school reopening.
