ACOE aims to support the implementation and development of Ethnic Studies programming in all K-12 schools as outlined in Assembly Bill 101. ACOE assists district leaders in understanding the foundational guidelines within the program, how to tailor the program to their community, and ways to build a program that reflects a cultural understanding of how groups have struggled and worked together. The focus of the experiences of African American, Chana/o/x and Latin/o/x, Native American, Asian American, and Pacific Islander studies will provide an opportunity for students to learn about the histories of these historically marginalized groups.
