Professional Learning Opportunities
Interested in partnering with us to refine your district's current language and literacy programming and instruction? Our model of support centers around a deep cycle of learning targeting an area of need using the most current tools aligned to the ELA/ELD Framework and EL Roadmap. The collaborative cycle includes collecting baseline observational data, choosing an area of focus using that data, professional learning options for teachers and district leaders to address the need, reflective protocols to refine implementation, and culminating in collecting post-observational data to show progress.
Examples of professional learning topics that could be part of a cycle include: increasing student talk/academic discussion and oracy, high leverage strategies that support language acquisition, designated ELD, and integrated ELD.
If you are interested in this type of partnership, please contact Rita Pope, Language and Literacy Program Manager, at rpope@acoe.org.
