Lorrie Owens Agency Appointee Term Begins: Dec. 1, 2021 Term Expires: Dec. 1, 2024

Lorrie Owens has served as the Chief Technology Officer for the San Mateo County Office of Education for 18 years. Prior to that, she spend 9 years managing technology in two separate districts is San Mateo County. She worked for IBM for 14 years prior to making a career switch to public sector. Ms. Owens is a popular speaker nationally on the topics of strategic technology leadership and digital equity issues. She has served as the chairperson of CCSESA's Technology Steering Committee (TSC), the president of California IT in Education (CITE), and is currently a member of the statewide planning committee for the California Association of African American Superintendents and Administrators (CAAASA) and the national board of the Consortium for School Networks (CoSN). She is president of the San Mateo County NAACP, assistant pastor of a church in Oakland, and serves on a number of community-based non-profits.
