Regular meetings of the Board are generally held at 6:30 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month (see schedule) in the Board Room of the Alameda County Office of Education at 313 W. Winton Avenue, Hayward, with the fourth Tuesday being a reserve meeting used as needed. Any exceptions to the regular schedule are announced through the ACOE website.
Board Meeting Procedures
All Board actions authorized or required by state law must take place in open session to give the public an opportunity to be heard. Meetings are governed by Robert’s Rules of Order.
Agendas must be posted at the County Office building 72 hours before a regular meeting, 24 hours before a special meeting, and 1 hour before an emergency meeting as per the Brown Act. Agendas and other board materials are available to the public at the meeting.
The Board may meet in closed session to discuss interdistrict transfer appeals, facility issues, and possible litigations. Any action resulting from discussion in the closed session must be announced in the open session.
