California English Language Development Test for Program Placement (CELDT)
The CELDT assessment determines a student’s English Language proficiency levels. This test is triggered each year when a student or parent notes a language other than English on the Home Language Survey (HLS) which is given to every student.
The CELDT annual window is from July 1 - October 31. All eligible students are tested each year by October 31. After October 31, the CELDT must be administered within 30 calendar days of enrollment and scored on site. After school site scoring, CELDT answer documents are sent to the publisher for official scoring and are placed in AERIES in the “Testing Section”.
