    Meeting

    Network

    • Core Coaching Network (begins August 31st, meets the last Friday of the month)
      • Core Coaching Network meets seven times a year to support instructional and content-specifc coaches throughout the Alameda County. ELA/ELD/literacy coaches meet during the second half of the network to network, learn about new instructional practices, and set goals for the coming months. Coaches who attend have access to the CCN Literacy Google Community.

    Upcoming Workshops

    • Multiple Dates: Expository Reading and Writing Course (ERWC)
      • This year, we are offering two high school ERWC courses, as well as one middle school course, for our region (Region IV: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, Solano, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties)
    • November 29, 2018: Building and Strengthening Existing Bilingual Immersion Programs
      • Audience: site- and district-levels teams (teachers, coaches, EL coordinators, site- and district-level administrators) that support emerging or existing bilingual immersion programs
      • In this one-day session, learn the most up-to-date legal requirements and research-based recommendations for dual language schools. Discover how to work wtih the guiding principles of dual language education: curriculum, instruction, assessment, and accountability. District teams will have the opportunity to reflect and plan next steps for continuous improvement. This training includes:Program self-assessment
        • Curriculum alignment planning
        • Review of essential characteristics/criteria for success
        • Research-based instructional practices
        • Networking opportunities
        • Action plan design
