Oakland International High School's Fall Internship Wraps Up!
The New Roots Intergenerational Food Justice Internship just wrapped up an exciting Fall/Winter semester with 15 high school youth and four community elders. We cooked a ton of food and worked in 4 gardens throughout Oakland, went on field trips to San Francisco’s Alemany Farmers’ market, Alemany Farm, two organic production farms in Pescadero, the Cheeseboard Collective in Berkeley where we got to make pizza, Dia de Los Muertos celebration in the Mission District, Castlemont High School’s awesome farm, and even a quick trip to the beach!
We’re looking forward to kicking off the Garden Mentorships in the new year with a new group of interns and lots of great things in the works for Spring 2018!
