  • COVID District Liaison Role

    The COVID Liaison:

    • Responds to COVID-19 concerns for the district.
    • Provides information and guidance for all members of the school district community.
    • Is the primary liaison with the Public Health Department
      • Attends regular meetings, trainings, and acts as primary point of contact for COVID related issues.
      • Is trained in up-to-date guidance on COVID and disease mitigation strategies.
      • Provides presentations and trainings on COVID, and COVID response and protocols for district staff.
      • Is the first point of contact for inquiries from all district stakeholders.
      • Tracks data related to COVID cases, responses, etc. and integrates with existing district data systems and department, e.g. SIS, absences, COST referrals, etc.

    Activated when there is a positive case at any district facility. District liaison may:

    • Consult with school on initial case investigation and communication with the community; may conduct the investigation.
    • Create and/or support creation of line lists of close contacts.
    • Provide templates and guidance for (1) community letters and (2) exposure letters; may assist with distribution of letters.
    • Ensure that all relevant data is entered into the Public Health Department information system.
  • COVID School Site Liaison Role

    The School Site Liaison is responsible for responding to COVID-19 concerns for the school site, and providing information and guidance for all members of the school community.

    • Is the primary point person with the COVID Liaison for the district.
    • Is trained in up-to-date guidance on COVID and disease mitigation strategies.
    • Provides presentations on COVID response and protocols for school staff.
    • Is the first point of contact for a staff member or student who has tested positive for COVID 19.

    Activated when there is a positive case at the school site. School Site Liaison may:

    • Consult with COVID Liaison on initial case investigation and communicate with the community.
    • Create line lists of close contacts.
    • Distribute (1) community letters and (2) exposure letters.
