Teaching staff at Camp Sweeney partner with Alameda County Probation and social service agencies to educate and foster the personal and social development of the youth in our care. Sweeney Academic Center provides individualized instruction, instructional aides, and special education services as part of our quality program to:

    • Prepare students for responsible citizenship.
    • Foster a learning environment to reinforce self-discipline and personal responsibility with minimal application of disciplinary measures, and
    • Improve student attitudes toward learning experiences and school.

Students are referred to Sweeney Academic Center by the Juvenile Court and the Alameda County Probation Department.
