• Charter Accountability Resource and Support Network

The Charter Accountability Resource and Support Network (CARSNet) is the first statewide program dedicated to the single purpose of developing and supporting informed charter school authorizing and oversight in California. Through work begun by the Alameda County Office of Education and funding by a federal CSP Leadership Activities Grant, CARSNet has built a successful model for building strong charter authorizing and oversight practices. Components of CARSNet include:

    • Annual conference specifically for charter school authorizing agency staff and board members
    • Training provided throughout the year for beginners and more experienced authorizers
    • Regional leaders bringing charter authorizers together to share knowledge & resources
    • Information disseminated statewide
