Camp Wilmont Sweeney is a compulsory minimum-security residential program for adolescent males, ages 15-19, detained in Alameda County's Juvenile Justice Center.
Camp Wilmont Sweeney Academic Center
Teaching staff at Camp Sweeney partner with Alameda County Probation and social service agencies to educate and foster the personal and social development of the youth in our care. Sweeney Academic Center provides individualized instruction, instructional aides, and special education services as part of our quality program to:
- Prepare students for responsible citizenship.
- Foster a learning environment to reinforce self-discipline and personal responsibility with minimal application of disciplinary measures, and
- Improve student attitudes toward learning experiences and school.
Students are referred to Sweeney Academic Center by the Juvenile Court and the Alameda County Probation Department.

The Steve L. Butler Memorial Fund is available to SPaS students enrolled in ACOE schools. Award amounts vary, depending on need, and can be used to buy books, a suit for work, covering class, conference or workshop fees, or more.
