Pathways to Teaching (Classified) Grant

If you're a classified or non-certificated staff member interested in becoming a TK–12 teacher, the Alameda County Office of Education (ACOE) is here to help you through the Classified to Teaching Grant!

This grant is available to current or recent classified school employees, Early Care & Education educators, and After School staff in Alameda County who want to:

  • Financial support to earn a Bachelor’s Degree
  • Financial support to earn a California TK–12 Teaching Credential

Who qualifies?

This grant is designed to support current or recent classified school employees, non-certificated staff, Early Care & Education educators, and After School program staff in Alameda County who aspire to become TK–12 teachers. 

 

 

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must serve in a classified or non-certificated role
  • Must work in Alameda County public schools
  • Must have completed at least 60 college units or hold an Associate degree and be working towards your Bachelor’s degree
  • Must meet admission requirements of a partnered Bachelor’s or credential program 

 

 

 

What’s Included:

  • Tuition support for Bachelor’s and credential programs
  • Living stipends for books, childcare, housing, etc.
  • 1:1 guidance from PATH Career Guides
  • Cohort-based support and community
  • Flexible, hybrid learning options

Up to $4,512 in annual incentives
